I’ve been looking forward to seeing Joanne Shaw Taylor since I interviewed her back in September . Both her records are full of classic soul drenched blues and her playing has a maturity rarely since of guitarists her age. However live Joanne is on a different level altogether and the quality of her guitar playing is at times breathtaking.

Chickenfoot are giving fans a taste of their upcoming album, which is apparently going to be titled ‘Chickenfoot III’ by releasing a teaser clip of the single ‘Bigfoot’. The sample is only 30 seconds but sounds great featuring a classy heavy rock riff from Joe Satriani.

Def Leppard have released an impressive ‘Mirror Ball’ Vinyl Presentation Pack. You can see it being unpacked in a special Youtube video released by Frontier Records which shows it in all it’s glory.

The remaining members of Pink Floyd are amongst some of the rockstars (Kings of Leon, Status Quo, and James Blunt.) that have donated guitars in order to raise funds for the Crisis charity. The guitar auction is now live, and it will run for two weeks, until Thursday 14 July.

A mysterious countdown has recently begun onJimmypage.com that has many guitarists salivating at the prospect of some kind of anouncement from the master of classic rock guitar. Counting down from 15, the timer is due to expire on the 14th July.

David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, bassist Wolfgang Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen have been working on a new album with producer John Shanks since the start of the year and it looks like we may hear some of the new material pretty soon
