Richie Kotzen Islington O2 Academy Gig Review
I had the privelige to witness one of the worlds most talented guitarists last Wednesday night at the Islington O2 Academy. It’s no secret that I’m a massive Richie Kotzen fan so I simply couldn’t miss this gig, especially after the last UK dates were rather suddenly cancelled.
UK Release for Joe Bonamassa’s Royal Albert Hall Concert on CD & Blu-ray
Provogue is pleased to announce the UK release of the companion piece to 2009’s hugely successful DVD release “Joe Bonamassa – Live At The Royal Albert Hall†(originally released in October 2009). Monday 18th October, the venue, Colston Hall Bristol and finally a chance to see the living legend that is Joe Satriani. The audience, 99% guitarists, 1% girlfriends and best mates in tow. This tour always promised to be something special with the Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards looking like one of Joe’s most diverse and creative albums to date.

I was first turned on to Rodrigo y Gabriela after watching their appearance on BB2′s later with Jules Holland. They performed one of their most popular tracks “Tamacun” a song that captures perfectly the rythmic energy that has made this flamanco duo so popular across Europe. Like many others watching I was totally blown away by the dynamic and powerful style of the couple.

Phil Collen joined Def Leppard in 1981 from the London music scene when he was asked to replace Pete Willis as lead guitarist of Def Leppard.His playing ability to play guitar impressed producer Mutt Lange and the rest of the band after he performed a guitar solo for the hit song “Photograph” during the band’s Pyromania sessions.
