Schecter Tempest Classic Review
The Schecter Tempest Classic is one of the high end models in the Tempest guitar line. Schecter have pulled out all the stops with the Tempest Classic which has a bound mahogany body topped with a beautifully matched flamed maple top. The mahogany neck sports an ebony fingerboard and Mother of Pearl/Abalone crown inlays. The Tempest Classic is also shipped with some classy Seymour Duncan SH-11 Custom Custom and SH-1n Alnico humbuckers that are selectable via a 3 way toggle switch.
The electronics are Vol/Vol Tone/Tone configuration with a coil tap to add a lot of versatility to the mix. The Schecter Tempest Classic also features Grover tuners and a TonePros bridge to ensure that is stays in tune. This Schecter Guitar has set neck construction that gives depth and sustain to an already superb tone. When playing it you will notice well balanced midrange, big bottom end, and rich highs whilst staying responsive to touch. The Tempest Classic keeps all your notes audible and separate even during the most complex chording. The Seymour Duncans alnico magnets give a moderately hot vintage tonality that produces rich overdriven tones or warm clean goodness. The Schecter Tempest Classic ultiamtely suits a wide array of guitar styles including metal, rock, blues, or country.
This is a class instrument and its no surprise that it was the Guitarist Magazine Choice in May 2009.
